Fitness: Gyms, Yoga, and Martial Arts
Siem Reap has a more developed fitness scene than most visitors expect. The city has a large expat and long-stay visitor community with serious expectations, and the gyms and studios that have emerged to serve them are genuinely good. Whether you want to keep up a training routine during your trip, try Kun Khmer, Cambodia’s national martial art, or find a yoga class before a temple day, the options are here.

Gyms
Meru Gym: At TUI BLUE Angkor Grace Wellness Resort on Preah Norodom Sihamoni Avenue. Opened in 2024 with three levels of Technogym equipment, a boxing area, cross-training zone, spinning bikes, and a juice bar. Over 45 group classes weekly including Pilates, spinning, and Kun Khmer. Personal training available. Day pass available for non-hotel guests. Consistently described as the best equipped gym in the city. Monday to Friday 5.30am to 9pm, Saturday and Sunday 6am to 8pm.
Phsar Leu Fitness Centre: Near Phsar Leu Market on National Road 6. A local favourite with a classic gym floor, upper air-conditioned level, spinning bikes, a sauna, and a cafe. Day pass around $5, monthly membership from $50. One of the most community-driven and affordable options in the city. Open 6am to 9pm.

Martial Arts
Kun Khmer is Cambodia’s national martial art, sharing roots with Muay Thai but distinct in its techniques, rhythms, and cultural context. Training it in Siem Reap with Cambodian coaches in the country where it originated is a different experience from a Muay Thai class in Bangkok. If you have any interest in combat sports, a session here is worth your time.
Ground Zero: On Sombai Road. Combines Kun Khmer, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, MMA, and yoga under one roof with a vegetarian cafe attached. A genuine training community rather than a tourist-facing gym. Classes available for all levels. Open Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am to 4pm.
Kingdom Fight Gym: Established in Siem Reap in 2018. Focuses on Kun Khmer, K1 kickboxing, and Muay Thai with a team of active and retired Cambodian fighters as coaches. Private and group sessions available. A serious training environment.
Yoga
Yoga makes particular sense in Siem Reap. The heat demands a slower pace, temple days start early and finish by midday, and the afternoons are long. A 90-minute class in a cool studio between lunch and sunset is one of the better ways to use that time.
Zen Studio: A dedicated yoga studio with a calm and well-designed space, experienced instructors, and a genuine community atmosphere. Multiple styles and levels. Consistently highly rated.
Aum Yoga Center: Beginner-friendly and advanced classes in a serene setting near Angkor Grace. One of the longer-established yoga options in the city.
The Park Hyatt Siem Reap also offers yoga classes to hotel guests and non-guests, set in the hotel gardens.
Practical Notes
Most gyms and studios in Siem Reap offer drop-in rates suitable for visitors on short stays. Book yoga and martial arts classes ahead during peak season between November and February when space is limited. A full listing of fitness venues is in the Wellness section of SiemReapLife.com.
