Zip Lining
Angkor Zipline is the only zipline course located inside a UNESCO World Heritage Site anywhere in the world. That alone makes it unusual. The fact that it is genuinely well-run, safety-focused, and set in 400-year-old jungle canopy above one of the most significant archaeological landscapes on earth makes it worth doing.
The course runs through the trees of the Angkor Archaeological Park, deep enough inside the forest that the temples are visible through the canopy and the sounds of the city are entirely gone. Groups are capped at nine participants with two certified Sky Rangers accompanying every session. The rangers narrate as you go, pointing out wildlife, explaining the ecosystem, and sharing stories about the park. Gibbons have been spotted from the platforms. Birds are common. The wildlife angle is not marketing filler.

The Courses
Two courses are available.
Silver Course: Ten ziplines, four sky bridges, 21 platforms, finishing with an abseil descent to the forest floor. Duration around two to two and a half hours on the course itself. Standing on a platform 35 metres up in ancient jungle canopy, looking out over the forest with no city, no road, no other person visible in any direction, is a genuinely disorienting and memorable moment. Best suited to families and first-timers. The eight-year-old who finds it manageable and the adult who finds it thrilling are both well-served by this option.
Gold Course: The extended version covering 14 trees and more platforms with longer ziplines and greater height. Takes around three hours on the course. The additional time means more of those moments of stillness between zips, which is where the setting actually lands. For those who want the full experience or have done the Silver before.
Both courses finish with transport to the Palmboo Restaurant near Sra Srong, the ancient royal bathing pool, where lunch or a Khmer snack is included depending on the package.

Practical Information
Angkor Pass: Not required if you use Angkor Zipline’s own transport. Their van enters the park under a separate arrangement. If you plan to visit temples on the same day, buy an Angkor Pass and arrange your own transport. If the zipline is the only activity of the day, book the transfer through Angkor Zipline directly and save yourself $37.
Location: Deep inside the Angkor Archaeological Park, not accessible by tuk-tuk without an Angkor Pass. Hotel pickup by air-conditioned van is available and recommended.
Group size: Maximum nine per group, two guides per group. This is strictly enforced and is one of the reasons the safety record and review scores are consistently strong.
Age and weight: Minimum age is typically seven years old. Minimum weight 15kg, maximum 120kg. Check current requirements when booking as these can vary.
Best time: The 7.30am departure is the most popular for good reason. The forest is coolest, the light is extraordinary, and wildlife activity is highest in the early morning. Later sessions are fine but warmer.
Booking: Book directly through angkorzipline.com or through your hotel. The course runs multiple sessions daily and fills up during peak season between November and February. Book at least a day ahead, more during the holiday period.
Prices are around $49 for the Silver Course and $69 for the Gold Course including lunch and hotel transfer. Check the website for current pricing as these occasionally change.
